Welcome to the WORLD!!!

O.k., I'm glad Salina Newman did not intend to abort her baby and the amniotic sac just kinda popped out into the toilet. I can just imagine the frightened girl freaking out at the sight. Meanwhile the tiny child reacted to changes in it's environment by squiggling and kicking!!! I guess baby and mom are o.k. and my blood pressure is fine because this was just an accident and not some abortion attempt. I've heard that some girls have tried to abort into the toilet to catch the blood. Nature is strange, but sometimes those little infants are more hardy than we could imagine. Excuse the pun, but I'm glad everything came out o.k.!

Brownie on T.V.....

Hmm.... Interesting.... He used the word "dysfunctional", and this pretty much describes the government's (at All levels) response to Katrina. No one is without blame. The question I have is; why is the situation on the Gulf Coast, particularly N.O.L.A. still dysfunctional??? They won't learn much from the response by finger pointing. The press is drifting away from it, but thank god there's still a few reports on what is going on. If they sit on their hands, another hurricane may yet hit that area or come close enough to cause damage next season.

Brownie is gone. He's a private citizen. He can write a book. He can make millions.

My view of Homeland Security? Do it yourself!!!! Protect yourself. If they tell you to get the hell out, GET OUT!

Mohammed Mania Part III: A good idea....

Holding a competition for drawings on the Holocaust by Muslims, that is. This is to demonstrate if the West has the same tolerance for expression of ideas as they expect from the Muslim world.

I can tell you that at least in this country, they do. It will be extremely unpopular, but it will be allowed without any major violence. We've allowed Ward Churchill to spew his insane ideas and there is another nutty professor at Northwestern U. that claims the Holocaust is a myth. Europe, understandably, is kind of touchy about the Holocaust... At least in Denmark, they are standing by the idea of freedom of the press. Prime Minister Rasmussen is staunchly defending this principle.

Suspicious Church Fires...

What's up with people who burn churches in the South???? This time, (hopefully), it isn't a race thing. Both black and white congregations were torched. Perhaps they have some other beef with the Baptist Church.

It's a sick crime. I don't care if a particular church or religion upsets you; go elsewhere! I wouldn't even want to see Fred Phelps' church in Topeka burned. And that would be my least favorite church. Not only that, but it seems to me to destroy God's house is asking for trouble! Religion really gets people upset. This is a hate crime, pure and simple!

Mohammed Mania Continued....

This isn't funny anymore! Now people are dying. Property is getting destroyed. I think the answer for all these angry Muslims is to get laid. Get rid of that stress and chill out, o.k... It's just a cartoon!

The BIG Bang!

WOW!!! Did you see that car? Acetylene sure does make a powerful explosive! There's gotta be something else to put in balloons that would pop, but not blow up. And to think the guy survived!

It would be cool to do that to a car by remote control. But if simple static electricity (it's dry here in Colorado) set that balloon off, I ain't gonna mess with it!

al-Quada Callin...

Bush: "Let me put it to you in Texan - If al-Quada is callin' the United States, we wanna know about it!"

Fine. But if your intelligence gathering is so good, how come Bin Laden and Al-Zwahiri are still sending out videos? I wish I could have complete faith that our government has only the purist of intentions. Not enough details are known about the wire taps to conclude whether they are legal or appropriate or not...

Of course if you are a Fed and reading this blog, welcome!

One week to go!

The beach awaits! Two weeks of warm weather! Hope we don't get stung by any rays or bitten by any sharks!

Teen Wanted in Gay Bar Rampage Is Caught

How sad this guy had to do this. He was a high school dropout who followed Nazism? Hmm.... It sounds painful to get whacked with a hatchet! Obviously, with the attacks at the bar and shootout in Arkansas, this guy's going down!!! His life is gone and the victims are likely to have a long and painful recovery... For WHAT, I ask you??? Oh well, I won't ponder it too much. Gets me upset!

Editor's Note: The guy later died from self-inflicted injuries sustained in the shootout.

Stupid Outrage!

Yes, I agree they probably shouldn't have published the caricature of the Profet Mohammed (may he remind his people to be Peaceful as well as Peace being upon him). And they should not have portrayed him as a terrorist. But all this angry rhetoric and death threats to Denmark, where the cartoon originated???

Man, I'm sorry, but this just shows the ridiculousness of religious extremism! Not only that, but I have a fondness for Denmark, the birthplace of my Grandmother (Peace be upon her, as well). Publishing a cartoon is NOT equivalent to blowing somebody up! Threats to Denmark of that nature are threats to me!

I read a little of the life of Mohammed. Yes, in some ways, he was a warrior Prophet. But only to defend his people - the Muslims. He did not rush out to make war for the sake of some trivial matter, such as a published drawing. Of course, nowadays, there are those who want to use this to fan the flames of hatred. It's kind of like when they flew the planes into the W.T.C. and killed three thousand people... Tens of thousands of Muslims got bombed and killed as a result.

Anti Wal-Mart Bill?

Actually, this is a Colorado bill to require (force) employers of more than 3500 to spend at least 11 percent of their payroll on health premiums. Many of them do... I'm convinced my employer (Centura) does the best it can. King Soopers and Safeway reportedly do as well. Wal-Mart? Well, you know that their philosophy is to cut costs to sell stuff cheaper.

I'd have to read the fine print on this bill. If many employers are already spending this percentage on health premiums and a few are not, then it is a good idea. Wal-Mart would just have to raise prices a small amount or cut costs elsewhere to comply. If there are other industries, however, who are doing the best they can, but would have difficulty with the extra costs, then the bill might not be a good idea.

I have little worry that such a bill would drive Wal-Mart out of business in Colorado. Why should everyone else pay Medicaid costs for working employees whose large employer is too cheap to pay health insurance. I sold my stock in Wal-Mart a couple of years ago and really try to avoid shopping there. It's difficult, however, to stay out of there sometimes as their prices are so low. I'd rather pay a few cents more at the cash register and have lower health costs!

Don't wait for the Government to do it!

If you wait for the Government or corporate America to come up with energy efficiency, you may be waiting a while. OR, you could take action yourself! You don't have to trade in that S.U.V. just yet! Just park it a few days a week and walk or take a bus!

There are loads of ideas for your home - simple things, such as putting a piece of black plastic in windows facing the sun. My dad cut peices of styrofoam and my mom covered them with fabric to put in the windows at night.

O.k., I haven't installed the Hydro - Gen, yet. The little truck runs so good, I don't want to mess it up. But I think I've found a easy way to tap into the fuse block. I take the bus to work - and try to walk more. I think it would be pretty simple to go solar at the trailer in Nebraska.

The speech? Yawn......

O.k., yes it was good. Bush didn't screw up any big words. Probably gave him a slight bump in the polls. I hear he's now going on the road to "campaign". For what, I have no Idea!!!???

I think some people on the Gulf Coast were let down by the speech. Remember, we've lost most of a major U.S. city and it got scarce mention in the speech.

The Democratic response by Gov. Kaine was o.k., too. He's kinda goofy-looking. It looks like they put him in to appease the religious people, or to draw some of them back to the Democratic Party. Anyway, lots of mention of the Creator and blessing God. I think few people actually listen to the opposition response.

I'm not sure what I want to see with Bushie. I suppose if he went down in ruins, the country would as well. Still, I think it would be best if he keeps his mediocre poll numbers and doesn't hit any "home runs" up until after next November. This is unless you would like us to become a one party country! Look, he's already stacked the Supreme Court to his liking and committed us heavily in a big war. Nobody wants complete gridlock, but we don't need a "rubber stamp" Congress, either. Any more loss of Democrats is bad.
