McCain says Bush should veto torture bill...

Makes me look like a fool! On a previous post I talked about how McCain was against torture. Now he wants Bush to veto the bill banning water boarding.

Look, I'm not sure what degree of torture water boarding is, but the world perceives it as such. Besides, it is probably not that effective anyway. Um, simulated drowning seems like torture to me. It certainly would be for me.

McCain and Obama on a roll!

I'm concerned about BOTH of them... McCain is too old and I wonder if Obama is battle tested enough. Now, I wouldn't count Clinton out yet!!! Obama is easing ahead, but Latino Texas remains. And I think there are some states on the West Coast yet to vote with large Asian populations. What happens if this thing is still too close to call or Obama is slightly ahead???? Then, the shrewd Clinton will pull out the stops to sway Super Delegates at the Denver Convention. What if she is successful, yet more people (regular delegates) actually supported Obama???? Then there is bound to be resentment and sour grapes. McCain wins... Denver is humiliated because of the chaos at the Convention.

Oh, I could live with McCain, but who would his running mate be??? This is important because of the Senator's age. Huckabee would be a good choice to sway religio-con (Evangelical) voters. But then, would I consider voting for this ticket? Yes, the Huckster is a nice guy, but remember how much our current V.P. controlls policy. Huckster might have sway over the moderate McCain.

Huck does a good job playing blues with his guitar, however. Hmmm......

Dobson to boycott election if McCain nominated....

Gosh, I was on the fence until this. Go McCain!

I'll be rooting for him just because of Dobson's call, although I have some differences with the Senator. I won't be caucasing because I refuse to register as either a republican or democrat. To convince me to vote for him in the general election, if he gets there, he would need to convince me that:

A. He is not a Neo-Con... and would not recklessly invade other countries... and
B. He has and would pursue some ideas to fix healthcare.

I gotta laugh out loud now....

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.... Ms. Pompous Ann Coulter says Hillary is more Conservative than John McCain... True, I wouldn't lable McCain as a hard core conservative. He's a moderate at best. But he's conservative on winning the war, which is enough. I don't look at him as a tax raiser, though he was right to balk at the Bush tax cuts favoring the wealthy.

I don't know what people like Coulter want. Someone so polarizing that none of the Democrats could vote for legislation that the President would sign? I suppose Ann thinks that all the Dems will just go away. They won't.

Yes, McCain has made mistakes. I guess McCain-Feingold was a mistake. And most people don't like "comprehensive" immigration reform. But the fact that he can work with Democrats and is respected by them counts for something, too.

The general public will consider a moderate Republican. I'm not sure how the war will be going at the time of the election, but as I've stated before, I don't believe in just giving up. I trust a military man to get us out of this mess more than some of the others. McCain opposes torture (duh... dude the man WAS tortured!!!)
