Oh my God, there he goes again! He speaks about how they made a pact with the devil to gain independence from the French, years ago. Well, alllllrighty then! This explains it all! Robertson was there at the time!

Really, Haiti is cursed by poverty, government corruption and poor building codes. Well, actually, the concrete may do well against hurricanes, but not earthquakes. And this one struck quickly after many hundreds of years of relative calm. So, yes, they did not include earthquake preparedness in their civic planning.

I strongly support aid efforts and any kind of assistance for the short term. But any long range grants or loans should be closely watched.
