What to do with Andrea?

I'd probably get chewed out by these women at work, but I have a degree of compassion for Andrea Yates. Now, I see she is getting a new trial. I'd hope the woman never has any more children to care for, yet I know she is a tormented soul.

In this case, a strong penalty won't act as a deterrent. The woman was insane; obviously anybody who would do THAT would be. What I'd like to know is what could have been done for her BEFORE this horrible incident!

Surely, we can't get to every poor soul tormented by mental illness, but we could do a better job!
