Goldwater, that is... Barry Goldwater! I have to admit that I was a little too young to really know what he stood for. Yet now hearing what he was about, I give him a total thumbs up!!! His brand of conservatism has faded, but I look forward to it get resurrected.

I was also "electrified" by Ronald Reagan, when he first came on the scene. The guy was a real cut-up and he made me laugh with his little jokes. I still get misty-eyed when I hear: "Mr. Gorbachev, TEAR DOWN THAT WALL! " Yes, after eight years, we were getting a little burned out on him, but not enough to see Dukakis elected...
