Colorado Springs Pastor denies gay relationship....

O.k., I'll wait for the dust to settle. Supposedly a former gay escort has come forth with allegations about the affair and says he has voicemails and a letter. Whoopie doo. I don't really think stuff like this belongs in the debate over gay marriage or Referendum I. It wasn't a monagomous relationship, if it happened at all, just some horney dude paying for sex. So what! Are there some hypocrites in the faith-based conservative community? Sure. But not all of them. Some of those people are very dedicated and practice what they preach. I may have disagreements with them, but this just brings sleaze into an important debate... And I don't think there is time to prove anything, anyway.

Now, I have run into people from all over who come to Denver to cavort around in the gay community. Who knows, perhaps in my hayday I might have fooled around with a preacher or two. So what???

Even if the "hustler" is made out to be a liar and this is just a stunt, I have already voted for Ref. I and would do so even if that was so. If allegations hold, well it has little to do with the stable relationships. I do think it is good from time to time for people who preach high and mighty morals to be brought down to earth, however I don't discourage anybody from following that path. Just don't be dishonest to yourself and live a lie!

Interesting post.

You said - I do think it is good from time to time for people who preach high and mighty morals to be brought down to earth, however I don't discourage anybody from following that path. Just don't be dishonest to yourself and live a lie!

Especially don't be dishonest to the congregation by being a complete hypocrite and leading thousands astray.

This pastor could not have expected to keep his sin a secret forever - it's only a matter of time before everything is revealed.

As Proverbs 10:9 says, "He who walks in integrity walks securely; But he who perverts his ways will be found out."

I applaud the homosexual prostitute for exposing Mr. Haggart for the fraud that he is - even if the timing seems like left-wing propaganda - better now than never. The Church and his wife deserve to know the Truth about who he really is.

Well, I agree that it would come out eventually. Being gay myself, however, I can't defend those of us who do sleazy stunts like this. I feel the same kind of disappointment you felt in the Pastor.

I am very sadned as I felt that the group of people standing on the the steps of the Capitol in favor of Ref. I, reflected the very best of the gay community and their supporters.
